One should know that the government sees a lot of revenue out of cricket and that's why they support, and not for the love of sports!!! What say you?

Re: The Ace of 64-squares - Grandmaster Viswanathan Anand

Ditto:P

Re: The Ace of 64-squares - Grandmaster Viswanathan Anand

one should be happy that our government supports at least one form of sport-cricket

Re: The Ace of 64-squares - Grandmaster Viswanathan Anand

You are spot on! Can you recollect the fanfare that happens when India wins or loses in cricket? that's unmeasurable. But look at Viswanathan Anand's achievement, and not much fanfare happened over here. Was he at least given a welcome in India? I don't think so.. Intellects go unnoticed over here..sad! I can only think of G B Shah's quote ' Eleven fools are playing and eleven thousand fools are watching'. Well, I must say, eleven thousand is a very conservative number over here.. what say you?

Re: The Ace of 64-squares - Grandmaster Viswanathan Anand

I agree with you one hundred percent and happen to have the same perceptions too! Why these people don't seem to acclaim real talent is still a mystery to me! I mean, this is like, an achievement extraordinaire and it's a pity people can't understand the truth! All i would say as regards the Government in this issue is, everything is politics based! Period.
